Automatic Doors at New Beginnings
This year marks the 2nd Anniversary of the New Beginnings Center, and it’s going to be an exciting one! The number of families and victims of Traumatic Brain Injuries (TBI) we have served in our community has doubled since we first opened and we are keeping up the pace with a projected 1200 more served this year. However, as we are growing and working to provide hope and therapeutic services to those with cognitive disabilities, we have had to work around a problem at our Medford Community Center. The main doors of our building do not open automatically, and this is an obstacle that must be faced every day by those in wheelchairs and those who walk with assistance. It is ironic how we fought so hard to open doors of rehabilitation and independence for TBI survivors, yet they require assistance to enter through our doors every time they come for a therapy session. Automatic doors for our building would cost an estimated $5,000 but the gain would be far greater. It would mean increased mobility and independence for every survivor that comes through our doors, a welcoming entrance to inspire hope for all who need our help. If you would like to donate to this specific cause, place click here to make a donation or mail a check to New Beginnings – 12-B Platinum Court, Medford NY 11763. Please feel free to contact me at ajscerri@gmail.com if you have any questions. Donate money for automatic doors.

Aron Michaels and the New Beginnings' Song
You may remember Aron Michaels from when he sang at our ground breaking ceremony. Aron is a very talented musician who is committed to our mission. This past summer he composed and designed an uplifting song for the New Beginnings Community Center. This is a song of encouragement and faith for our returning veterans and civilians who have the hardship and journey of recovering from a life changing event. We all take for granted our health and every day living, but life can change in an instant. Please take a moment to follow this link and listen to Aron Michaels and the New Beginnings Song.
