Hello Friends and Family.  We would like to thank everyone for reaching out to our family about Charlie's Passing on 10/9/2021.  Your heartfelt condolences are very comforting to the Scerri family.  

Family and Friends are invited to attend a celebration of life gathering on Saturday, October 16th, 2021 at 10am at Mount Pleasant Cemetery, 43 Main Street, Center Moriches, NY.

Carmel Charlie Scerri

February 11,1927-October 9, 2021.
Carmel Charlie Scerri, 94 years old, passed away peacefully on October 9th, 2021 surrounded by his loved ones after a long battle of Dementia and CHF. Charlie was born February 11, 1927 to Carmel & Josephine Scerri, in Senglea, Malta. He worked in his family laundry business until he joined the Royal Maltese Army as a Gunner. He married Margot Goodlace April 27, 1957 and went to the United States thereafter having their first child Karen, April 1958. He returned to Malta to help with the family business and a few years later returned to the US. Charlie & Margot had two more children, sons, Steve & MIke. Charlie became an American Citizen in 1969 with his wife Margot. He worked as a building manager his entire career living in NYC, Queens, Hempstead, then retired in 1989 to his summer home in East Moriches NY. Charlie loved his garden, fishing and his grandchildren. During his retirement he would fish in Moriches Bay and would fish every summer with his grandson Brian and some summers, his brother Effie would join them. Due to his declining health, Charlie spent his last years living with his daughter in Upstate NY, but was able to enjoy a fishing trip this past Fathers Day with his son Steve and his family. Charlie was predeceased by his wife Margot, December 2011. His brothers Samuel & Joseph Scerri and sister Mary Celeste. He is survived by his daughter Karen (Brian) Burke, his son Steve (Allyson) Scerri and son Mike Scerri. His brother Alfred Effie Scerri, his grandchildren, Brian Burke Jr, Christopher (Kristen) Burke and Michelle Burke, Alyssa(Patrick) Newcomb & Allyn Daniels. His Great granddaughter Isla Leigh Burke.
